Design Consultant & Lecturer
He knows our industry. He speaks your language. As one of the three original Apple certified consultants nationally, Rick has been a part of the desktop publishing revolution since its inception, in 1987.
He was asked by the print and graphic design communities to rewrite curricula to meet key needs in this digital era. His three new courses helped earn the Scottsdale Community College Graphic Design program the coveted Frederick D. Kagy International Award for Excellence.
Rick helped write the standards for the State of Arizona’s K–12 educational system for Graphic Arts, and each summer, “teaches the teachers” how to better instruct to those standards. He has been a designer, illustrator, creative director, television sales rep, marketing director, print salesman, consultant, trainer and author. He has consulted leading corporations including Apple Computer, Adobe Systems, Rapp Worldwide, AT&T, and Origami Owl.
He is a consultant and lecturer, and is an Adjunct Professor at SCC two days a week teaching Design, Digital Color Theory, and Digital Photography. Rick regularly consults for GCU, Arizona Highways Magazine, and TivityHealth. He speaks his mind. He is well respected for his practical approach, impartial opinions, and his effective, humorous way of delivering key knowledge in plain English.
