Julie Anixter

Julie Anixter is the new Executive Director of AIGA, the professional association for design. With over 20 years of experience in design, brand building, and innovation, she believes that design has the power to change the world, and that designers are problem solvers, innovators, and leaders for a world that has abundant opportunities for transformation. She has experience in almost every facet of the design discipline including consulting, curation, business development, education, innovation, management, marketing, public affairs, and R&D. She has also led initiatives for diverse organizations including Chanel, The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, GE, P&G, and the US Air Force and Naval Aviation Command.

Julie has an MFA from the University of San Francisco and has done graduate work in the philosophy of linguistics and the learning sciences. The co-author of four books, she has also collaborated closely with many thought leaders to amplify their influence and disseminate their work, most notably, authors Seth Godin, Tom Peters, Judith Glaser, and Dr. Roger Schank. She is also the co-founder of InnovationExcellence.com
