Do you draw brush script with a pencil? Does your lettering lack spark and flow? Much lettering looks unnatural because it defies the physics of calligraphy and uses ordinary materials. Our Boot Camp will suit you up, shape you up, and develop muscles you never knew you had using your brand new calligraphy kit!
In this two-day hands-on workshop, you’ll build up the muscle memory while learning five different calligraphy styles that will help take your hand lettering skills to the next level. You’ll emerge with a better understanding of both historical and contemporary letterforms, deepening your appreciation for the evolution of the western alphabet.
Day 1 will introduce your new toolkit while learning Uncial and Blackletter style calligraphy; Day 2 continues with Brush Script, Modern Script with Pointed Pen and Folded Pen.
This workshop is for beginners with little to no formal experience with calligraphy. Intermediate lettering artists are also welcome to attend. Class fee includes two-day registration, all the tools you’ll need and a light supper, served at 5:30pm, class starts promptly at 6:00pm each day. Limited to only 18 attendees, watch for registration announcement soon.
