Cindy Iverson from Letterpress Central and Nancy Hill from Hazel and Violet Ink are teaming up to host a creative afternoon in the land of letterpress. Small groups will work together to design, print and take home posters created from wood type, vintage cuts or polymer plates. No prior experience necessary but bring an apron so your clothes don’t get inky! The cost is $45 and spots are limited to 20 people.

Calligraphy Boot Camp: Day 1 – Lessons in Lettering with Professor Alison King

In this two-day workshop, you’ll build up the muscle memory and use the right tools to learn five different calligraphy styles that will take your hand-lettering skills to the next level. It won’t be easy. There may be tears. But you’ll emerge a stronger designer with a better understanding of historical and contemporary letterforms, and new strength to back it up. Class fee includes light supper and all the tools you’ll need. Separate registration required, watch for announcement. Light supper is included at 5:30pm.
